Healthy Diets Don’t Include Poison
I’ve been eating a diet healthy with organic foods for years. You know what organic means? It’s the stuff we used to eat when our grandparents were kids. You know back before the poison of pesticides. The good news is there has been a big push to get organic food products back into the mainstream, so you can now find them almost everywhere.
All good healthy diets take into consideration the amount of “unnatural” stuff that you put in to your body and pesticides that are present on a lot of mainstream grocery foods certainly qualify as “unnatural”. Obviously when it comes to pesticides, we are talking mostly about fruits and vegetables.
Below is a list of fruits and vegetables that do or don’t need to be organic. Some are far more likely to retain pesticides than others. I hope this list makes it easier for you to organize your day to day healthy eating plan.
Fruits and Vegetables that you absolutely need to buy organic.
(Most Pesticides)
- Apples
- Bell Peppers
- Carrots
- Celery
- Cherries
- Grapes
- Kale
- Lettuce
- Nectarines
- Peaches
- Pears
- Strawberries
Not Necessary to buy organic
(Fewer Pesticides)
- Asparagus
- Avocados
- Broccoli
- Cabbage
- Eggplant
- Mango
- Onions
- Papaya
- Pineapple
- Sweet Corn
- Sweet Peas
- Sweet Potato
- Tomato
- Watermelon
It logically follows that all healthy diets consist of organic foods and limiting the amount of pesticides you take into your system will elevate your overall health and well-being. Organic food stores stock fruits and vegetables that are virtually devoid of pesticides and many regular grocery store s have them now as well.
